So much for Global Warming many will say. And why not, we just skated through July with the mildest temps the country as seen in nearly 100 Years.
Our daily July max averaged only 69.5 degrees. This is the fifty lowest July since 1916. No wonder the city council touts San Diego as “America’s Finest City,”
Granted our records rely on Lindberg International Airport thermometers and it can become decidedly warmer in the East Country. However our Official reports cried out, “Cool Cool Cool.’
Sunday, first day of August the National Weather Service reported the country over all average daily maximum was 69.9. That’s a combination of daily average highest and lowest outdoor temps over the entire July month.
There was a 4 day span when heat in the city climbed into the 80s, it soared up to 90s in the back country. Still, we still moved through the beginning of the second half of 2010 and closed out the big J with bragging rights, 14th lowest
on record.
An important part of San Diego’s economy depends on tourism so lets be sure we invite all to enjoy our pristine beaches, our gracious convention center, ever fabulous Balboa Park with world class zoo, Lego Land and Sea World.
