The Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego implemented the RAPIDGate Program to increase installation security. The program is used by vendors,
suppliers, service providers and contractors who require routine access
to the Depot.
The program provides streamlined access to the depot, typically resulting in increased efficiency and cost savings for enrolled companies.
To use the program, companies enroll, register employees, validate employment status and authenticate their identity. There is background screening, biometric verification to allow entry authorization for vendors, suppliers, service providers and contractors that are not authorized to receive a Government-issued Common Access Card (CAC).
Companies may choose not to participate in the RAPIDGate Program, but they are required to demonstrate and provide proof, in the form of a letter certified by the company and subject to Government audit, that each of their employees was processed through background checks in accordance with Department of Defense, United States Marine Corps and MCRD requirements.
