CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said six people were arrested after a June 6 fight at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River, and investigators said more arrests are expected as they review video from the scene.

Sheriff Thomas Summers said the disturbance happened during the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run. The sheriff’s office said video showed multiple fights and crowds gathering around the brawl.

Authorities said more than 20 people were involved and at least three people were injured, with injuries ranging from swollen eyes to head injuries. Summers said alcohol was a factor and that deputies identified numerous cases of underage drinking.

“This kind of behavior will not be tolerated,” Summers said in comments cited by Fox News.

Fox News reported that the six arrested people were Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson, and that they face various assault and breach-of-peace charges. The sheriff’s office has not publicly released a charge-by-charge breakdown in the material reviewed.

The investigation remains active, the sheriff’s office said, with detectives still matching names to faces and reviewing public submissions. Authorities have not said what sparked the violence.
