UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, were charged after police said they took a customer’s remade drive-thru order from the trash and spat on it before serving it, according to reporting that cited Union police.

The incident was reported at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass after a customer complained about her first meal and staff agreed to remake it. News accounts placed the episode on May 30 or May 31.

The employees identified in reporting as Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item, Fox News reported. Fox News said the three were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22, while Audacy reported Sanders and Rice were arrested and a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant.

A manager told police the employees involved had been written up, according to Fox News’ reporting of the case. The customer was not named in the reports.
