NEW YORK, June 9 (DC Times Online) — President Donald Trump drew a mixed reaction from the Madison Square Garden crowd Sunday night when he was shown on the big screen during the national anthem before Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Fox News reported.
A Getty Images photo by Samuel Corum showed Trump at the start of Game 3 on June 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Fox News reported the game was between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.
The president appeared on the video board alongside his granddaughter Kai Trump and Knicks owner James Dolan, with Kai Trump on his right and Dolan on his left, according to Fox News.
Trump saluted from a suite as some fans cheered and louder boos were heard, the outlet reported.
The response contrasted with Trump’s appearance earlier this year at the College Football Playoff national championship at Hard Rock Stadium, where Fox News reported the crowd cheered when he appeared on the stadium video board during the national anthem.
Fox News reported that after the in-arena shot of Trump ended, the video panned back to NYPD officers holding flags on the court.
